When Is the Cutoff for Submitting Payroll Changes?

Explains the Input Due milestone, where to check your cutoff date, and what happens if you miss it.

Every payroll change has a deadline. Here's how to find yours, and what it actually controls.

The cutoff is your Input Due milestone

The cutoff for submitting payroll changes is the Input Due milestone on your payroll calendar. It's the one milestone that's always tracked, regardless of how the rest of your calendar is configured, and it applies to every type of change: new hires, pay element updates, address changes, bank detail updates, and terminations.

Where to check your cutoff date

Go to Payroll, then Calendar, to see the Input Due date for each of your payroll cycles. Because cutoff dates are set per entity and per cycle, they can differ across countries and payroll frequencies. Always check the specific cycle you're submitting a change for.

What happens at cutoff

  • Changes submitted before Input Due are included in that cycle

  • Changes submitted after Input Due may need to wait for the next cycle, or be handled through an off-cycle payroll

  • Once payroll processing has begun for a cycle, some changes can no longer be edited at all

Best practice

Submit changes as soon as you know about them rather than waiting for the deadline. This leaves room to fix mistakes and avoids changes getting caught out by processing timelines. If you're ever unsure whether a change will make the current cycle, contact us before the input due date rather than assuming.
