What Happens If You Miss a Milestone Deadline?

Explains what happens to your payroll timing if you miss the Input Due or Approval milestones.

Missing a milestone can affect your payroll timing. Because later milestones depend on earlier ones, a delay early in the cycle tends to push everything after it back too.

If you miss the Input Due deadline

  • Late changes may not be included in the current payroll cycle

  • Those changes may need to wait for the next payroll, or be handled through an off-cycle payroll instead

If Approval is delayed

Everything downstream of Approval shifts back with it. We can't send final reports or your invoice until payroll is approved, which means payment for the cycle can't be initiated on schedule either, pushing back employee pay day as a result.

The general rule

Once a milestone has passed, some actions may no longer be possible for that cycle. If you expect delays or need to make a change after a deadline, don't wait. Contact us as soon as possible so we can advise on next steps.
