Yes, Remote People can offer part-time employment agreements in Hong Kong, in addition to full-time agreements. As part of our Employer of Record (EOR) services, we can support both full-time and part-time employees in the region.

Standard Employment Setup

  • Continuous Employment: All employment agreements with Remote People are considered continuous by default, regardless of whether the employee is part-time or full-time.

  • Part-Time Employment: Part-time employees are treated in the same way as full-time employees in terms of legal protections and benefits. The key difference is the working hours, which will be pro-rated based on the agreed part-time schedule.

Key Considerations for Part-Time Employees

  • Employment Rights: Part-time employees in Hong Kong have the same rights and protections as full-time employees, including entitlement to annual leave, sick leave, and public holidays, on a pro-rated basis.

  • Hours and Wages: Part-time employees typically work fewer than 5 days a week or fewer hours per day, and their compensation is adjusted accordingly.

  • Probation Periods: Part-time employees can also be placed on a probationary period of 3 to 6 months, similar to full-time employees.
