Most day-to-day payroll changes, such as pay updates, address changes, and bank detail updates, are made directly from an employee's profile. This article covers submitting changes for one employee at a time. For updating multiple employees in the same payroll at once, see "How to Submit Bulk Payroll Changes".
Where to start
Go to People
Select the Global Payroll Employees tab
Click on the employee you want to update
This opens the employee profile, where every payroll change is made.
Submitting a pay element or compensation change
Open the employee profile
Go to the Compensation tab
Add or edit the pay element: enter the amount, currency, and frequency
Set the effective date
Choose which cycle type the change should apply to: Regular or Off-Cycle
Save your changes
Submitting an address change
Open the employee profile
Go to the Personal tab
Scroll to the Location section
Update the address details and set the effective date
Save your changes
Address changes can affect payroll and compliance depending on the country, so make sure the details are accurate before saving.
Submitting a bank detail change
Open the employee profile
Go to the Personal tab
Navigate to the Bank section
Update the bank details: country, bank name, account holder name, account number, and SWIFT/BIC/BACS code
Set the effective date and save your changes
Make sure bank details are correct and submitted before the input due date. Errors here can delay an employee's payment.
What happens after you submit
The change is applied to the relevant payroll cycle if submitted before the input due date
Some changes may require additional review by Remote People
If no change is submitted for an employee, they continue to be paid based on their existing details.
Keep in mind: changes submitted after cutoff may be delayed, and some changes can't be edited once payroll processing has begun. If you're unsure whether a change will make the current cycle, contact us before the input due date.
