Once you've decided to bring a country or entity onto Global Payroll, here's what actually happens between now and your first payroll run.
How long does it take?
Implementation typically takes 45 to 90 days per country for a payroll migration case. For a lower headcount or a new entity, it can be done within 30 days. The exact timeline depends on:
Local regulatory requirements in that country
How complete the information you provide is
The complexity of your payroll setup
The stages of implementation
Discovery and data collection. We gather details on your entity, the countries you operate in, and your payroll requirements.
Entity and payroll setup. We configure your entity, pay elements, and payroll calendar based on that information.
Parallel run testing. For payroll migration cases, we run parallel testing to make sure the payroll calculation matches your expectations.
Employee onboarding. You submit your employees' information on the platform, and our implementation team helps each employee activate their Remote People account.
First payroll cycle. Your first payroll run is a hypercare run, where our implementation and operations teams work closely to confirm the results match the setup and your expectations.
What we need from you
The single biggest factor in how fast implementation goes is how complete the information you provide is. Incomplete or delayed data is the most common cause of implementation running past 90 days.
After you're live
Once your first payroll cycle is complete, day-to-day management moves to your payroll calendar and cycles. From there, most of what you'll do is submit pay element changes, onboard new hires, and review your payroll register each cycle.
