For employees hired under an unlimited (open-ended) employment agreement in Greece, the probation period is fixed at 6 months by law.
This duration cannot be shortened or extended at the discretion of the employer or employee. It applies uniformly to all unlimited contracts, regardless of the role or industry.
During the probation period, either party may terminate the agreement without the standard notice obligations. After the 6-month period, standard termination rules apply.
