In Poland, annual leave entitlements and regulations ensure that employees have adequate time off and that leave is managed in a structured manner. Here’s an overview of the annual leave provisions:
Annual Leave Entitlements
Minimum Leave Days:
0 to 10 Years of Employment: Employees are entitled to 20 days of annual leave.
More than 10 Years of Employment: Employees are entitled to 26 days of annual leave.
Part-Time Employees: Annual leave is calculated in proportion to their working time.
Standard Leave Requirements: Employees must take at least 14 continuous days of annual leave without interruption.
Half-Day Rule: Employees cannot take half days off; leave must be taken as full days.
Accrual of Leave
First Year: Leave is pro-rated for the first year of employment.
From the Second Year: Employees receive the full number of annual leave days.
Carryover and Cash-Out
Carryover: Unused annual leave can be carried over for up to 21 months after accrual. Specifically, leave must be used by September 30 of the following year.
Cash-Out: Employees can request to cash out unused leave if not taken.
