In Malaysia, employees are entitled to paid sick leave based on their length of service:
0 to 2 years: Minimum 14 days per year
2 to 5 years: Minimum 18 days per year
Over 5 years: Minimum 22 days per year
If hospitalization is necessary, employees are entitled to a minimum of 60 days of paid sick leave per year. A medical certificate is required after 2 days of absence, and the employer may require examination by a registered medical practitioner at the employer's expense.
