In Malaysia, the minimum annual leave entitlement is based on the length of employment:
0 to 2 years: Minimum 8 days
2 to 5 years: Minimum 12 days
Over 5 years: Minimum 16 days
Annual leave is accrued on a pro-rata basis during the first year and becomes fully available starting from the second year of employment. Unused leave must be used within 12 months of accrual, as it expires after that period, unless the employer approves carryover.
