  • Monday, 6 April – Easter Monday

  • Friday, 1 May – Labour Day

  • Monday, 4 May – Restoration of Independence Day

  • Tuesday, 23 June – Midsummer’s Eve (Līgo Day)

  • Wednesday, 24 June – St. John’s Day (Jāņi Day)

  • Wednesday, 18 November – Proclamation Day of the Republic of Latvia

  • Thursday, 24 December – Christmas Eve

  • Friday, 25 December – Christmas Day

  • Saturday, 26 December – Second Day of Christmas

  • Thursday, 31 December – New Year’s Eve


Notes:

  • Latvia grants 14 statutory paid public holidays per year.

  • If a public holiday falls on a weekend, no compensatory day off is provided, except for May 4, which may be moved to the following Monday.

  • Mother’s Day (10 May 2026) and Pentecost (24 May 2026) are widely observed but are not statutory public holidays.

  • New Year’s Eve (31 December) is commonly observed, but not guaranteed as a paid day off unless specified by employer agreements.
