Remote People offers two main types of employment agreements in Latvia: unlimited-term and fixed-term. Both contract types may be arranged on either a full-time or part-time basis, in accordance with local labor law.

1. Unlimited-Term Employment Agreement (Standard)

This is the most common contract type in Latvia, with no fixed end date. It remains valid until terminated by either party with appropriate notice.

  • Suitable for long-term, ongoing roles.

  • Can be structured as full-time or part-time.

  • For part-time contracts, working hours must be clearly stated in the agreement.

2. Fixed-Term Employment Agreement (Less Standard but Possible)

Fixed-term contracts are allowed when justified by specific circumstances, such as:
