Remote People is mandated by German law, specifically the Regulation on Occupational Medical Examinations (ArbMedVV), to offer preventive health screenings to employees who regularly work at computer screens. While Remote People is required to provide this service, participation is entirely voluntary and employees are not obligated to take part.
Type of Examination: Occupational medical examination for employees working at screen workstations.
Who Is Eligible? All employees who regularly work at computer screens.
Participation is Voluntary. Employees may decline to participate and this will not impact their employment in any way.
Purpose of the Examination
The occupational medical examination aims to:
Protect employee's health by identifying any potential strain or discomfort caused by prolonged screen work.
Help detect any issues early, enabling employee's to take the necessary steps to address them.
The required medical examinations depend on the company's risk assessment, generally only the visual display unit (VDU) examination ("screening for screen work") is likely needed.
How to Participate
If an employee wishes to take part in the screening, they must:
Inform Remote People that they would like to schedule the examination, by reaching out to the Support team.
Schedule the appointment at one of the available ias Group locations.
The examination is carried out by the ias Group, a trusted provider of occupational health services.There are 110 ias Group locations across Germany.
They must attend the location closest to their residence: Find a location.
No medical data from examinations will be shared with Remote People, employees will receive a certificate of participation, handed to them personally after the examination.
Costs and Payment
The VDU examination Cost: €81.98
This is fully covered by the Employer.
Employees do not need to pay upfront or seek reimbursement.
