Under current Egyptian Labor Law, male employees are not legally entitled to paternity leave. The legislation does not provide a dedicated leave period for male employees following the birth or adoption of a child.
In the absence of statutory entitlement, male employees may request to use their annual leave to take time off for the birth of their child. Such requests are subject to the employer’s standard leave approval procedures and internal policies.
While paternity leave is not a legal requirement in Egypt, some private-sector employers have voluntarily introduced paternity leave policies.
