In Morocco, employment contracts can be signed digitally using a certified tool provided by Remote People, no need for wet-ink signatures. However, they must be stamped (legalized) by a public authority afterward to be fully recognized for administrative and legal purposes.
Ensuring contracts are stamped is the responsibility of the employee during their onboarding process.
Steps
1. Receive and Sign Contract
Remote People drafts an employment contract.
Both the Employee and the Employer sign digitally via the provided certified tool.
2. Legalize the Contract (Stamping)
Employees must visit their nearest public office (commune/municipal office, local arrondissement, or notary's office) with:
A printed copy of the digitally signed contract
ID (CNIE or passport)
Any required fee
Request the legalization (stamp) of your signature. This confirms the authenticity of the digital signature and grants administrative validity under Moroccan law.
Where to Legalize a Contract
Online Portal: Submit & track legalization requests digitally through the Ministry of Interior's platform.
In-Person Offices: Any commune, arrondissement, or public administration office where legalization services are offered (ex. municipal annexes in Casablanca).
