Employees in Burundi are entitled to paid sick leave under the following conditions:
They must notify their sick leave within 24 hours of falling ill.
For extended absences, they must provide a medical certificate to justify the leave.
Employees on sick leave are entitled to a daily allowance equal to at least 66.7% (⅔) of their regular salary .
