A medical certificate is required for absences longer than 1 day.
How to submit a Sick Leave
All sick leave and maternity leave certificates are issued and closed electronically by the medical institution.
It is your responsibility as an employee to ensure that your medical provider closes your sick leave bulletin in the system once your leave ends.
Automatic Data Sharing
Once your bulletin is closed, the data is automatically sent to:
Remote People
Relevant state authorities for allowance calculation
To ensure accurate payroll processing and proper internal recordkeeping, it is still mandatory to submit your sick leave days through the Remote People platform. Please follow the steps outlined in the guide How to apply for time off & sick leave? to complete your submission.
How Payments Work
Days 1–7 of sick leave: Paid by your employer, based on the state's calculation.
From Day 8 onward: Paid by the state.
Maternity leave: Paid entirely by the state.
Important: If any corrections are made to your data, a recalculation of your allowance will be triggered.
