In Armenia, employees are entitled to 12 public holidays per year. These holidays are recognized nationwide, and when a public holiday falls on a weekend, an additional day off is typically granted to employees.

Public Holidays:

  1. January 1st - 2nd: New Year’s Holidays

  2. January 6th: Christmas Day (celebrated with Epiphany)

  3. January 27th : Day of Remembrance of Those Fallen in the Defense of the Homeland

  4. January 28th: National Army Day

  5. March 8th: International Women’s Day

  6. April 24th: Genocide Victims' Commemoration Day

  7. May 1st: Labor Day

  8. May 9th: Victory and Peace Day

  9. May 28th: Republic Day (of the First Republic)

  10. July 5th: Constitution Day

  11. September 21st: Independence Day

  12. December 31st: New Year’s Eve

Weekend Public Holidays

  • When a public holiday falls on a weekend, by default, an additional holiday is provided, ensuring employees receive a day off to compensate.
