In Armenia, working hours and overtime are regulated by labor laws to ensure fair treatment of employees.
Standard Working Hours
The maximum working time is 40 hours per week, with a limit of 8 hours per day.
On the eve of non-working days, employees work one hour less, shortening the workday before holidays or weekends.
Overtime Work
Overtime is allowed under specific circumstances, such as:
Preventing accidents,
Repairing equipment,
Replacing an absent employee, or
Fulfilling urgent contractual obligations.
The maximum overtime is limited to 2 hours per day and 120 hours per year.
Compensation for Overtime
Weekdays: Overtime must be compensated at a minimum rate of 150% of the regular salary.
Weekends or Holidays: Employees working overtime on these days must receive at least 200% of their regular salary.
This structure ensures that employees are fairly compensated while maintaining a reasonable balance between work and rest.
